Very impressed with our new dining chairs. After a long search for the right chairs, we went into Nordic Design expecting to again find something close to what we wanted, but not quite. How wrong we were. After discussing what we were after, and looking at and sitting on many options, we came up with a hybrid design that had everything we wanted, and the combination was easily accomodated. The chairs were ready ahead of time, and the wood matches and complements our existing table. Excellent design, excellent service, and great quality furniture.

What a fantastic experience dealing with Nordic design furniture, David in particular in sales but has for many years and still heads factory production, very interesting to talk with, he so understands requests for custom made, same cost as ‘standard makes’ and quietly helps in final design, nothing is to much a problem. Outstanding workmanship, seemed expensive but really not, great value for such a fine product, be patient with lead time it is well worth the wait.

It’s now 2 years since we bought our buffet from Nordic Design and we continue to be very happy with it. We designed it with the storage of our collection of vinyl, cds and dvds in mind. It is the perfect entertainment unit and we are extremely impressed with the quality, skill and craftsmanship involved in making it. It contains a lot of heavy items but is so solid that we have no concerns. Highly recommended for a locally-crafted, for-life piece of furniture.

Owner does not care about the customer once the furniture is out of the store i had the table with chairs home deliverd the employees dropped my table that cost me $8000. damaged the side of it which looks really bad he suggested putting water on it too see if it expands out was not helpful was not sorry no compensation or money off my damaged product. Now i have too look at the damage everyday everytime i sit down on my 10 chair dining set wouldn't recommend buying anything threw this mob of uncaring sellers

I am highly impressed with the quality & comfort of my new couch & recliner.After searching for a new couch & chair I was put off by the quality of the bigger stores. Everything was the same!At Nordic Design I chose a couch & chair and was able to have this changed to suit my tastes. Living in Brisbane, it required a leap of faith to order a suite of custom-made furniture from a manufacturer we didn’t know in Adelaide, but Daniel and his team at Nordic Design were wonderful. Though all discussions were held by phone, we were able to make custom changes to the company’s existing designs, choose exactly the timber we wanted, and select fabrics via one of Nordic Design’s Brisbane suppliers. Daniel quickly understood our preferred style and provided us with excellent design advice. Through the entire process, we found the Nordic Design team to be professional, responsive and committed to delivering first-class quality. In the end, our faith was well-placed – we couldn’t be happier with our beautiful furniture.

'Cost is only ever an issue in the absence of value'.Nordic Design provides outstanding quality, value and level of customer service including good communication.Their local SA based in-house design and production delivers high quality classic furniture that looks gorgeous, is comfortable, practical and is built to last generations. They only use quality materials (timber, foam, webbing, stitching, etc.) and manufacturing/construction methods. They employ local trades people to design and manufacture furniture from scratch.In total, we purchased 6 x dining chairs, 2 x bar stools, 8 x cushions and had 3 x existing armchairs recovered in some of the most expensive material one can buy. The material was our choice. You could purchase lesser priced material depending on your budget and taste.Worth noting, it was discovered by their upholsterer that two of our existing armchairs needed some underlying work before they could be re-covered and they cared enough to contact us to give us the opportunity to choose whether to pay a little extra and resolve the issues they had found (inferior and now decaying materials originally used by another manufacturer 7 years ago) or not. We chose to pay the extra of course. It was minimal in the overall size of our order and well worth doing.The six chairs and two bar stools are to a custom height that works for us and our existing furniture. I believe you can't get that order option at other major retail furniture stores.Our furniture including our choice of fabric and wood stain colour looks absolutely stunning in our home. Oh and the new dining chairs and the bar stools are very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time.To those of you who 'know the price of everything but the value of nothing', maybe this isn't the product for you? Although I would suggest you consider Nordic as one of your shopping options and visit their Adelaide showroom to see, feel, touch the furniture they have on offer in person and discuss your requirements when comparing with other 'retail' offerings. Don't dismiss them on pricing alone. Nordic will deliver anywhere in Australia for a reasonable price too in you don't reside in Adelaide.There is a price point you pay for this level of craftsmanship. However, remember, long after the price is forgotten, the quality and the joy of owning and using a key piece of home furniture remains. Highly recommend.

We have just received our order of 2 sofas, an armchair and ottoman and we couldn't be happier. Everything is stunning. The team at Nordic were extremely helpful, shaping the design of the armchair to tie in with the sofas and spending time with us to select the fabrics for the furniture based on my taste and photos which contained only glimpses of the rugs we wanted to coordinate with. When we ordered they let us know it would take up to X weeks and they were spot on. And I love that our furniture is locally made. I highly recommend.

I wanted a quality custom made wardrobe because I couldn't find what I needed anywhere. David and Nordic Design didn't disappoint me!! I provided David with my non-professional hand drawing of the piece I envisioned and David skilfully adjusted the design in line with my wish and my budget. When it came to the handles, I insisted on a specific design, which David gently discouraged initially. I persisted. On delivery, the furniture was perfect! Except for the handles... The professional had an accurate eye! David gracefully designed new handles and replaced the old ones for free. Now the furniture is truly perfect! I have had it for 6 month now, and I am still as happy with it as I was on day 1. Money well spent. Thank you so much!!!

After searching through mainstream stores for my new sofa and reading chair and finding quality and value for money lacking, I made my way to Nordic Design on Magill Road. As soon as I walked through the door I knew I would find just what I wanted. The showroom is a sea of serenity and gorgeous Scandi inspired 21st century furniture. It took no time at all to find my sofa but quite a few changes of heart before I settled on the fabric and comfort I wanted. Daniel and his team were friendly, helpful, and very patient! I am extremely happy with the end result, and my lovely sofa and reading chair are a perfect fit for my new 60's era lounge room. I have no hesitation in recommending Nordic Design to anyone looking for high quality, value for money furniture, but especially for their excellent service throughout.

We recently took delivery of a beautifully crafted dining suite in Tasmanian Blackwood, from Nordic Design. The table looked great in the showroom but in our dining room it looks absolutely magnificent. The chairs are made from matching wood with beautiful black leather and they are so comfortable. We had been searching all the furniture retailers in Adelaide over several months trying to find a fine quality dining suite, but only when we finally dropped into Nordic Design we could see their range of products were, by far, a cut above the rest. For those who are looking for outstanding quality furniture, we would have no hesitation in recommending that you check them out.

We have been buying Nordic Design Furniture for over 15 years. We have been fortunate enough to own many of the handcrafted pieces from this wonderful family business.Excellent attention to detail, a large range of choices to make the furniture your own. Staff are passionate about their work and eager to accomodate.We recently had a beautiful couch and chairs delivered for our new home. Sometimes wait times can be extended, but you know the furniture is being made in Adelaide and it is worth the wait, being such high quality. This is not throw away furniture, but items which can be handed down to the next generation.We have always been very happy with our purchases.

Magnificent hand-crafted furniture you simply can’t find many Australian manufacturers using the best materials, making quality like this around any more right down to the beautiful polished finish.Staff were very obliging and able to make changes to the length of our sofa to fit in the room perfectly, we are constantly complimented by all who see and sit on it.

I have bought a number of items from Nordic Design now. I have found their furniture to be competitively priced compared with other locally made stuff. The quality is at least as good as items we have had made elsewhere. The sales team are easy to deal with, and not pushy at all. I now look first to nordic design when sourcing new furniture items, before looking elsewhere.

Despite the beautifully made furniture, the arrogance and aggressive sales tactics of this store have finally brought our trade with them to an end. We tried many times to be pleasant in the face of this kind of behaviour, but this business needs to re-evaulate its customer relations. Appalling.

Poor service, arrogant Sale Representative, I attended to shop this afternoon to make final payment for our new dining table but Sale Representative / Managing Director was arguing with me to prove his points are correct and customer does not have any right to make his/her points.Last five years we spent about $20,000 on furniture at this shop (Nordic Design Furniture) but I would not recommend the services and attitude of Sale Representative / Managing Director towards customers.

If I could give them no stars I would.Way overpriced for furniture that may or may not be made in Australia, judging by there wait times.I do not like there high pressure selling tactics of trying to lock you into something which may not be the best options for you.It boarders on Harassment which the ACCC would find interesting I am sure.There are better options available which actually do manufacture in Adelaide and you can visit their factory
