WHAT DOES CUSTOM FURNITURE MEAN?
To put it simply – Custom Furniture is any item that’s been individually made to your specific selections – size, colour, design style, finish & storage.
And at Nordic Design, with every order placed, we go through all of these choices to ensure the furniture is exactly how you like. We love being able to offer truly Custom Furniture to our customers.

STEP 1 – CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
When considering any piece of furniture for your home, the first thing to establish is the space you have. How large or small is your room and what would be the ideal size of your furniture items? Measure the space in your home and talk to us about your requirements. You can be as specific as needed to ensure the size of the finished product is exactly what you want and will fit as though it was designed for your space (because it has been).
Not only can you customise the size of your furniture, but you can also choose your preferred functionality. You might request drawers and shelving for personalised storage – all to your desired sizing.
STEP 2 – CHOOSE YOUR DESIGN
When choosing the design of your furniture, simply consider what area your piece will be living in. Is the room contemporary or traditional? Will it be accompanied by other furniture, or sit as a statement piece?
Our Custom Designer Furniture is so diverse because of the possibilities on offer and we can easily achieve a modern or traditional design based on your needs. Whether you want to design something that will complement existing furniture pieces, or furnish your entire space from scratch, we can accommodate all requests.
STEP 3 – CHOOSE YOUR TIMBER & UPHOLSTERY

TIMBER
We are especially proud of our Custom Timber Furniture. As we use natural hardwood timbers, the unique grain variations across each selection are simply stunning and reinforce a custom product. Some of the timbers we offer include Tasmanian Blackwood, Tasmanian Oak, Victorian Mountain Ash, Western Australian Jarrah, Tasmanian Silver Wattle or American Oak. Alternatively, if you have existing furniture pieces you’d like to match, our specialist polishers can closely match colour tones. So in other words, the colour options are endless…
And while each person will have different timber preferences, the outcome of owning a quality product is welcomed by all.

We are proud to offer hundreds of fabric and leather choices to our customers.
